School-Family Communication
We believe in School-Family communication. The family has a significant influence on a child’s development and well being. Working well with a child means working well with the family.
We encourage our staff and family members to have open communication to minimize potential conflicts. Family is informed of the child’s performance and school activities by means of notes, emails, telephone calls, regular newsletters, home visits, conferences and meetings. Parents and family members are encouraged to provide feedback and routinely consulted about decisions concerning the children’s development and education.
Initial child enrolment interviews are conducted to understand children’s needs and parents’ expectations.
Families are provided with the relevant resources and information to reinforce children’s learning experiences. Activities are extended to encourage the family’s involvement, i.e. collecting family data for class discussions or taking pictures of family members performing their duties of work)
Mulitcultural programmes involving families sharing their expertise and experiences enhance children’s appreciation of our multi-ethnic culture
Staff-Child Interaction
Young children require support and guidance from staff and develop best in a conducive environment where pleasant conversations, spontaneous laughter and exclamations of excitement prevail.
Our team of qualified and experienced staff will encourage your children to think, reason, question and experiment throughout the day, using actual events and experiences as a basis for concept development. Not only will our staff stimulate children’s ideas effectively by adding information and expanding on ideas presented by children, they will also introduce concepts in response to children’s interests and needs to solve problems. Additionally, our staff will appreciate children’s efforts and treat all children equally and discourage gender stereotyping.
